The rainforest is a protected area and it influences people to take care of nature and biodiversity
Hello again Dear friends,
Going back to decades ago, when a small group of people chose to protect a portion of the Monteverde Cloud Forest, they may not have foreseen the deep cultural shift that decision would inspire.
What started as a commitment to preserve nature grew into something much larger — a way of life. That moment sparked not just the creation of one of Costa Rica’s most iconic reserves, but a widespread and lasting ethic of conservation that now defines the surrounding communities.
Here, “land” is a very important for all species. Many families were raised with the belief that conservation doesn't mean stopping progress, but giving it direction. That a piece of land can be productive and still be a haven for biodiversity. That living near the forest is not only a privilege, but a responsibility.
You can feel this legacy in the rural schools, in local community projects, in the way visitors are welcomed — and yes, even in the way properties are offered and inhabited.
🌱 Conservation is no longer just an initiative. It’s part of the identity of this region.
And while not everyone was born here, many come with the same desire: to be part of a place where respect for nature is the starting point, not a side note.
At Amomonteverde.com, we honor that story. Our role is to connect those seeking to live or invest in this region with places that can support that delicate harmony between community, nature, and purpose.
