The Cloud Forest Climate: A World of Cold and Mist
The closer we get to Monteverde’s Cloud Forest Reserve, the more the environment transforms. Dense fog, constant humidity, and fresh winds create a unique atmosphere that defines this area. The climate
is cold, with high-altitude air that keeps temperatures low throughout most of the year. Additionally, the soil is soft and extremely fertile, allowing lush gardens to thrive, especially thanks to the humid conditions.
However, this climate is not stable, as it varies significantly throughout the year, following changing patterns that can even surprise long-time residents. While the fertility of the land is an advantage for gardening
and landscaping, the proximity to the Reserve presents several challenges in real estate terms.
