We are excited to share with you the details of one of our country's celebrations that is also important in our community: the Day of Cultures in Monteverde.
This event, celebrated every October 12, is a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the richness and cultural
diversity that characterizes our beautiful region.
Why do we celebrate the Day of Cultures?
The objective of this celebration is to exalt the pluricultural and multiethnic character of the Costa Rican people, recognizing the contribution of indigenous, European, African and Asian values to the national identity. In addition, it seeks to remember the historical and cultural ties that link the nations of Latin America.
The Day of Cultures in Monteverde is an opportunity to honor our traditions, share knowledge and strengthen community ties.
In Monteverde there are different organizations, mainly educational but also business, that make this celebration possible.
This is how community groups are responsible for
developing cultural activities to commemorate this day.

Made in Monteverde: This consortium of micro, small and medium-sized companies promotes the cultural and economic diversity of the region through arts, tourism, well-being, lodging and gastronomy.
Monteverde University Center
(UNED): Participates in cultural and educational projects, such as the Monteverde Cultural Inventory, mapping the cultural heritage of the region.
University of Costa Rica (UCR): Through programs such as Regional Consortiums, Companies and Cultural Agents (Crea-C), the UCR promotes cultural and
sustainable projects in Monteverde.
Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT): Supports the comprehensive management of tourist destinations, including Monteverde, promoting cultural and tourist activities.
