How much rain falls in Monteverde? Enough to create a season of Rainbows!
So, how much rain does Monteverde really get? Contrary to popular belief, it's not as much as you might think. If you're contemplating a move
to our community, drawn by the allure of nature and a break from city superficiality, don't let the rain myth deter you!
In October, a month known for its green season showers, Monteverde experiences an average rainfall of around 520 cm. This
year, although drier than usual, saw a slightly higher rainfall, reaching 575 cm, as reported by the Monteverde Institute, diligently collecting data since 2017. While the numbers might seem hefty, the reality is quite different.
Almost every
morning graces us with sunshine, mild temperatures, and a gentle breeze. The sun persists until late morning or early afternoon, and even when clouds roll in, it rarely translates into a torrential downpour, but rather the rhythmic rain typical of the season. Despite cooler temperatures compared to other parts of Costa Rica, October's average temperature stood at 18.7º C, with sunny mornings reaching a pleasant 23.4º C.
